We’re now less than a week away from converging on the Cultybraggan ex-POW camp in Perthshire, Scotland to film “The Draft – A Conscription of Conscience” – a new short film series exploring the future of the Church. A group of 20 sojourners and technical crew will be filming next Saturday, 11th January, 2020. Explore The Draft film series, here.

We’re certainly very grateful for the generosity of everyone backing the project so far.
Are we ready?
I know that the burden on everyone’s heart is the glory of God and faithfulness to Christ. However, are we ready for the radical preparation that the Spirit of God is leading us into?
Without doubt, we are living in very significant days and I covet your prayers, personally and for the project.
Jesus is coming and the fundamental landscape of the British Church is changing.
Thank you for praying.

Jesus. You might love Him. You might hate Him. You might reduce Him to fanciful notion and religious crutch. Jesus. Regardless, I have come to find Him to be irresistibly, insatiably and authentically Who He said He was: the Way, the Truth and the Life – the only reconciling way to know and embrace the Father. Jesus. Very God of Very God. His loving Presence unmistakeable, incomparable. His eternal, infinite reality transcendent over everything physical and emotional and spiritual, making perfect sense of our incomprehensible smallness. Jesus. He is Sanity in anxiety; He is all substance found in faith. I don’t think we really know what it means to abide in Him; I don’t think we really know what it means to pray. So much of life and so much of “church” conspires against these bread and butter inheritances. Some wittingly some unwittingly. Either way, I believe God wants to revive us through tears. No man lives via bread alone. Check out my vlog on prayer via my author’s page here and, if you haven’t already, grab a copy of Body Zero by clicking here.
Is there more to life than this? Heck yes. The supernatural life of a disciple of Christ… enough wasted time. We need to be radically prepared for His return.
“Body Zero – Radical Preparation For the Return of Christ” has been out for almost one month now. It’s been an exhausting and exhilarating month of social media, events, packaging, daily trips to the Post Office and…a gradual easing into rest.
As though the finest cut of meat has been grilled, released from the fire and now sitting under a tin-foil canopy unto something like imperfect perfection, my very best is just being served as Body Zero does the rounds. Here’s what I learnt:
Do you ever wonder what the Church will look like before Jesus returns?
Please watch this space this week for pre-order info for Body Zero: Radical Preparation for the Return of Christ.
If you’re a Christian and you’ve worried that your mental health isn’t what it ‘should be’, be encouraged in Jesus’ Name! (more…)
The sting of injustice is never pleasant. Like an incurable disease plaguing the entire world, all of us can see injustice functioning on a global scale every single day. We witness Robert Mugabe, corrupt Bankers, terrorism, famine, Rogue Traders, lazy Landlords, disallowed goals that have crossed the line, recruitment processes that look legal but that are internally rigged, false imprisonments, false biblical teaching, the ivory trade, endangered tigers, abuses of power, human trafficking and a whole other nightmare of unimaginable dysfunction that, somehow, manages to endure.
Despite the rare pockets of glory, our best efforts to act justly and the promises within the redemptive mission of God, we still live in an unjust, broken-down world.
Global becomes Personal
Global injustice like this is meant to provoke us into faith-filled action and to woo us into the caring shelter of God, but, like a nauseating hors d’oeuvre before our eventual main course of numbness, it has a nasty habit of shutting us down. (more…)
Imagine being woken up tomorrow morning by voices in your head, or voices that you thought were in your head. Imagine groggily coming round, sick in your stomach, disoriented by fear because of the sonic traffic that the voices in your head were creating: unfamiliar tones, unrecognisable expressions – a mystifying medley of unearthly voice. Imagine waking tomorrow morning to experience something akin to a dream and yet that was not a dream; something understandable and yet utterly bewildering.
You would be afraid. (more…)
Hurtling as we are towards the bridge between the end of one year and the beginning of yet another new one, our “reflective, creative, dreaming” hat is firmly in place.
As just one part of this, clarifying our ‘soul aim’ will help us to help you as much as possible.
So, what is the soul aim of Firebrand Notes? Quite simply, to:
“Help every viewer to love Jesus as they should“
We have some mega news coming up in the New Year about our latest media resource that, more than two years in the making, promises to smash up any form of spiritual boredom or apathy or confusion or illiteracy about how to live an effectively Jesus-riveted life for the glory of God.
- Do you have a smart phone?
- Do you love crisp, digital media?
- Do you want to live for the glory of God?
- Do you want to be as fruitful as you’re supposed to be?
- Do you want to help people to grow in faith?
- Do you want to read Matthew 28 and have inner peace that you’re doing what Jesus wants you to be doing?
It’s our soul aim this coming year to help you ‘tick’ each of these ‘bullets’ as your next 12 months begin to unfold towards another ‘year wiser’…all by awesome design not lazy default.
We’re praying that we’d all learn to love as we should
Would you be up for tracking with us?
