Save us, O LORD our God

This verse below is a daily prayer that the Lord has led us to pray for at least two main reasons:

1) We need His saving help personally. In and of ourselves we are utterly helpless and dependent on His grace.

2) The Church need His saving help unto faithful gathering and worship.

As Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones often said, the problem with the Church is that we are far too healthy (in our own eyes). Thus, we have no doubt that this recognition of a profound need for His saving help personally is the pre-cursor to the Church posturing herself in such a way so as to receive His sanctification corporately.

Peterson & Musk: they who wrestle with God

Listening to Jordan Peterson’s greatly anticipated conversation with Elon Musk this week was like witnessing a younger, less mature man embody an older frame while playing verbal tennis with an elder man supernaturally endowed with younger flesh. But what would Paul of Tarsus say to them both?

The box-office conversation flitting around various chilling realities of our imploding world would have been greatly improved had Peterson been more composed, more reclined and more sensitive to allow Musk to answer his questions. When hosting someone in conversation, (as he did with Nigel Farage a couple of weeks ago), Peterson needs to speak much less than the interviewee and give more extended space for their thoughts rather than constantly interjecting his own in response to what they say. Because of this, while fascinating in parts, it was a near two-hour discussion that was punctuated with awkwardness that at times bordered on the embarrassing.

Our conversation this week is to get us all to think about the spiritual climate that we’re all living within — ie that the multiplicity of different Christian doctrines and denominations that are tolerated (and even celebrated) equate to nothing other than deep spiritual sickness and spawning false gospels.
