Edinburgh Disciples, you know the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, that it’s the world’s largest Arts Festival? Ergo, it is one of the largest white fields in the world 🔊
Yesterday, my friend and I stood outside a false church in Edinburgh in bold defiance of the anti-Christ “gospel” that they proclaim.
While a celebration of “pride” unfolded inside, as women with pushchairs and beards, self-harming scars and gender dysphoria arrived through the doors, as homosexual “Christians” dismissed the gospel of repentance with confidence, sickened by the thought of Jesus while boldly claiming knowledge of God, the gospel thundered.
Do you realise that even if your knees knock in fear, and even if your mind feels faint with nerves, in Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost you have been given authority by God to love and go to your neighbours?
Are you intimidated by transgenderism? Are you fearful of saying the wrong thing? Are you worried about your job being under threat? Is silence an option?
If you look at the very end of 1 Corinthians 16, you’ll read Paul describing a spiritual reality that I believe is at the very heart of effective Christian ministry, fruitful discipleship and that is also one of the most difficult lessons to learn as we mature in faith as ‘ordinary’ men and women.

Either that, or you take yourself along to your local gym and do a Les Mill’s BodyPump class, and the currentContinue reading “Isaiah, Fatboy Slim & the Rhythms of Rave (Prayer)”
I’m approaching the end of a year at Holy Trinity Richmond serving as worship pastor, come September. The time for Mairi and I has been a cultural shock in many ways but mainly of adjusting to the relentless busyness of living in London….going to bed with the sounds of sirens and buses…waking up to theContinue reading “Sirens and Buses”
