It is a very ugly aspect of our corporate discipleship gone askew when we obsess over “pretty” Bible-based Instagram accounts, (oh, I love your handwriting; where do you get those highlighters), but when it comes to the exposure of the life-shattering truth of God as revealed in these “pretty little pages”, there is so often furious complaint and churlish outrage from those who supposedly love Him more than life itself.

Perhaps we should have more Bible Instagram accounts with their pages soiled with blood and intestine and fractured bone? Wouldn’t that more accurately communicate the ferocity of the spiritual struggle around even basic Bible literacy in the Church?
We are spiritually adulterous when we posit biblical appetite on social media as a method for papering over the cracks in our personal submission to His authority over every single facet of our living.

Ephesians 4:13-14
