The Draft

Saturday, January 4th 2020 witnessed a phenomenal show of solidarity and prophetic potency as twelve disciples of Jesus drove through a furious storm and the Scottish wilderness to reach a former WW2 POW camp.

We had converged from all corners of the UK and Ireland in order to have a conversation about the future of the Body of Christ.

“The Draft – A Conscription of Conscience” is the result.

During pre-production, the overwhelming prophetic word emerged in prayer that, “every church in the UK must close its doors.”

This is the radical – and hope-filled – message of this film.

Ten weeks later, on the weekend of 27-29th March 2020, every church in the UK was forcibly closed…the very same weekend that The Draft was available for public viewing.

God is speaking but will we listen?

Maranatha.

  1. I have come across you for your YouTube support for, appeals to, Tommy Robinson. I shared your prior disaffection for Tommy, though I, like you(?), had growing concerns about the proliferation of Islamic architecture, and the Church’s naive ecumenical response to it; allowed ourselves to be prejudiced by what is a mendacious media machine. You, from your ministry in Bradford. Me from teaching positions in South Leeds and then the outskirts of Sheffield – Firth Park.

Your recent post to him, ‘Dear Tommy,’ touched me and I have, this morning, watched a good deal of your content, including The Draft in order to better understand where you are coming from.

At 63 years old, I am a novice in Christianity; am utterly disenchanted though with the CofE and its affiliates, which has us hoodwinked, and am resolved that Catholicism beckons, for the sake of the need for Mary, Mother of God. But I am not blind either, to the schism that threatens. Instead I am inspired by Bishop Barron, or Katherine Bennett, Anthony Esolen, Kale Zelden, the last two also teachers.

The Draft’s call to prayer was most powerful, and I thank all the participants for their evocation of the spirit. As someone who only four years ago confessed that I did not know how to pray, is, for the most part, somewhat alienated by the prayers of intercession offered from the pulpit, I am beginning to regard the Rosary as a place of deep and continuous contemplation.

Still, I recently watched C S Lewis advice for prayer during the early morning hours of wakefulness, between 3-5am, as an ideal time to speak to God and, more importantly, to hear him. That’s when I lose confidence, or is it, lack patience, and resilience, openness, authenticity, conviction, or whatever qualities it requires and that were on display in your prayer session, and decide, instead, to commune with the likes of you. To commune with Him vicariously.

You make fairly consistent reference to St Paul’s teachings, to which I am in thrall. And you also regret that Jeremiah or Hosea (I am not familiar with anything other than broad brushstrokes of the Old Testament) are missing in the Church’s teachings, preferring to soft-soap the flock. I agree. I recently sat down and read Revelations which further compromised my relationships with so much of the sexual depravity that the Church has licenced. For me, rather than an expression of, it is a failure of love, to not preach the accommodation of the body, through the transcendence of the spirit.

To Tommy again. I believe he may well benefit from your ministry, though I found your disavowal of Jordan, and more particularly Tammy, Peterson’s patronage a little unwise, given their worldwide reach, and the scars they too bare. That’s worldly expedience for sure, but it is not without spiritual meaning.

I hope that your book ‘The Glorious Few’ reaches him. For me, whether or not he has his Damascus moment, as you, and perhaps I* have had, he has been in the vanguard of Redeeming Radicalisation.

    Kind regards

    Nathalie Bethesda

*And I would say Tammy Peterson has.

    1. Hi Nathalie,

Thank you for your message and please forgive my relatively brief response.

I’m certainly glad that the videos etc. are proving to be of some help/encouragement.

Regarding your comments about Jordan and Tammy, what I said was hardly a renunciation or rejection of their commentary; on the contrary. However, they are not born-again disciples of the living Christ though they counsel others as though they were. This is most serious and not without eternal consequence.

Therefore, I think my response to their time with Tommy is wholly appropriate.

Also, regarding the deception of Catholicism, please see here: https://firebrandnotes.com/2021/10/15/english-catholic-conversions/
